April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month
Embrace Your Voice This April
The goal of Sexual Assault Awareness Month is to raise awareness and educate communities about sexual violence and how to prevent it. This year’s campaign encourages individuals to recognize the power of one’s voice. Individuals can use their voices to support survivors, stand up to victim blaming, promote everyday consent, correct misconceptions, shut down rape jokes and promote healthy communication with children. Everyone is encouraged to use words to promote safety, respect and equality to stop sexual violence.
Your voice is a very powerful tool. By standing up for survivors of sexual violence, you send an important message, that you believe and support them. Now is the time for everyone to embrace your voice!
