April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The goal of Sexual Assault Awareness Month is to raise awareness and educate communities about sexual violence and how to prevent it.
In one year, 7.5 million Americans were victims of stalking—a dangerous crime that can happen to anyone.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and purple is the color of domestic violence awareness. JOIN US on October 19, 2017 for #PurpleThursday!
Victims Resource Center presents hundreds of Child Safety programs each year to children in pre-school through second grades. These programs empower children to say “No!” to inappropriate touches and to tell an adult if someone tries to touch them in a way that makes them uncomfortable.
While these programs are important, they are not enough. We recognize that adults must take responsibility for protecting children and preventing child sexual abuse. To help parents develop skills to prevent abuse, Victims Resource Center is collaborating with the Wilkes-Barre City Health Department to offer Parents in the Know.
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. It is a time to call attention to the fact that sexual violence is widespread and impacts every person in this community. Rape, sexual assault, and sexual harassment harm our community, and statistics show one in five women and one in 71 men will be raped at some point in their lives.
